How to transfer credit card points to Copa Airlines ConnectMiles

ConnectMiles is the program of Copa Airlines, based in Panama and part of Star Alliance. It uses a fixed award chart. Round trips can include a stopover and two open-jaws, and Copa doesn't add carrier surcharges on partners such as Emirates, so the cash part of an award is usually small.

Citi became a Copa partner in October 2026. Rove transfers there too.

Which bank points transfer to Copa

Citi cards. The Citi Strata Premier, Strata Elite, Prestige and AT&T Access More transfer at 1:1. Most other Citi cards get 1,000 to 700.

Amex, Chase, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo don't transfer to ConnectMiles.

Banks sometimes run transfer bonuses to Copa. Check the transfer screen on the day you move points.

Before you move any points

Open a free ConnectMiles account at copaair.com if you don't have one.
Make the names match on your bank account, ConnectMiles account and passport.
Find the flight first. For Emirates and some other partners, a Copa agent has to confirm the seat by phone. Transfers can't be undone.

How to transfer from each bank

Citi. Sign in at thankyou.com, find Points Transfer, and choose Copa Airlines ConnectMiles. Transfers start at 1,000 points. The Strata Premier, Strata Elite, Prestige and AT&T Access More get 1:1; most other Citi cards get 1,000 to 700. If you have a full-ratio card and other Citi cards, combine your points in one ThankYou account first so they move at 1:1.

Rove. Sign in at rove.com or in the Rove app, tap your profile icon, then Transfer Miles, and choose Copa Airlines ConnectMiles. Your ConnectMiles account has to exist already, and its name and number must match your Rove account. Check the ratio and any minimum on screen before you confirm. Rove says most transfers finish within a day, but some take up to 20 days. Rove transfers can't be cancelled.

Check that the miles arrived

Log in at copaair.com and check the miles balance in your ConnectMiles account. If nothing shows after the usual time, check your bank's transfer history for the number and name you used. Don't send a second transfer.

How to book the award

Sign in to ConnectMiles at copaair.com.
Start a flight search and choose the option to book with miles.
Enter your airports, dates, cabin and travelers. For a stopover or open-jaw, use the multi-city search.
Pick your flights and check the operating airline and cabin on every leg.
Enter each traveler's name, date of birth and gender exactly as on their passport.
Pay the taxes and fees by card, and save the booking code.

Emirates and some partner awards usually need a call. Call the ConnectMiles service center at 1-800-FLY-COPA (1-800-359-2672) with the exact flights and dates. Copa's website doesn't always show partner seats correctly.

The fees to know

No carrier surcharges: you pay government taxes and airport fees.
Booking, change and cancellation fees: members without Copa status pay these on some awards, and more close to departure. Check the current amounts on copaair.com before you book.

Award tickets are valid for one year from issue, and the trip has to be completed within that year.

Do ConnectMiles expire?

Yes. ConnectMiles expire after 24 months without account activity. Check your account if you haven't used it in a while.

Mistakes I see most

Transferring for an Emirates or partner flight before a phone agent confirms the seat.
Transferring from a no-fee Citi card at 1,000 to 700 when you also hold a Strata Premier or Strata Elite.
Forgetting the fees for members without status.
